As a Psychotherapist and mental health professional, I use talk therapy, somatic (body-based) interventions, and the therapeutic relationship to help clients achieve positive change. The fact is that talk therapy, combined with somatic work are effective and powerful ways to experience change and healing. Psychotherapy and counselling can help you heal the effects of trauma, find solutions to the issues you are facing so you can improve your daily functioning and the overall state of your mental and emotional health.
I’m Jenniel, a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, and Brainspotting Practitioner, licensed to provide psychotherapy to clients in Ontario and Alberta.
I help adult clients address the effects of childhood trauma, abandonment, abuse, and neglect that keep them feeling emotionally stuck, fearful, anxious, hopeless, and unable to fully enjoy their life, careers, and relationships.
By providing a judgment-free, non-anxious therapeutic environment, I offer a safe, empathetic space for you to share your experiences, and address your deepest hurts and concerns. Through therapy you will learn ways to regulate your emotions, find balance, get unstuck, love yourself and make meaningful connections with others.
I utilize a person-centered, strength-based approach to therapy which helps you identify and accept all of who you are, while focusing on enhancing your strengths and building resilience. Where requested, I incorporate spirituality into counselling for holistic growth and healing.
